The Nate Green Experience

Hey guys, Nate here. I'm proud to announce that I'm now the Program Director of Scrawny To Brawny. From now on all of my blogs and articles will be posted on the brand-new Scrawny To Brawny Blog. So if you enjoyed what you read here, please go check it out. (It's awesome, if I say so myself.) I'm keeping the NGE website alive for resource reasons, but will no longer be actively updating it. The best way to get in touch with me is through leaving a comment on the Scrawny To Brawny blog or by posting on the S2B Facebook page. See you guys over at the new blog!

Short-term discomfort for long-term gain Short-term discomfort for long-term gain

Emailing and rejecting a client.

Breaking up with an apathetic and uninspiring girlfriend.

Handing in your two week notice.

Saying “Good Bye†to a circle of friends who do nothing but complain, bitch, and sulk.

Clicking “send†on an email to a potential mentor.

Introducing yourself to a group of high-powered executives.

Speaking up when someone challenges you.

Biting your tongue when someone challenges you.

Taking out a business loan.

Saying “no†to a bad idea from a good friend.

This weekend I was listening to an audio interview with Tim Ferriss, author of the Four Hour Work Week, when he said two things that stuck out to me.

The first was:

“Embrace short-term discomfort for long-term gain and comfort.â€

The second?

“The worst kind of existence is 24 hour low-grade anxiety.â€

You think about that.

What is the link to this audio interview, I bet the author would really appreciate the support.

    +++++

I think it was with Internet marketing guru Yanik Silver, but I don't remember.

Dude, we need to talk about posting an excerpt without linking to the full version. You jerk.

I know it's an old post, but hey.

Made interesting reading (short, but powerful). I have just started to spend less time with some 'friends' who rarely leave their front room. Funny thing is, I have another friend who is pretty much everything I aspire to be, and yet only spend time with him once a month or less. It's time for me to get up and make the effort, be the first one to pick up the phone and suggest doing stuff.

Starting a new job tomorrow, going to be quite stressful and it's not really what I want to do in life... however, it will make me financially able to embrace my free time. (buy a motorbike, climb a mountain, go sea fishing; eating what I catch)

I am not a robot; anymore.
