The Nate Green Experience

Technical Update - Blogs and Such

Here's to Overkill! Here's to Overkill!

Leave it to me to take something relatively straightforward (the design and launch of BuiltForShow.com) and make it really complicated (a full software rebuild and light redesign of The Nate Green Experience).

Here's what's new:

1. Blog Previews and Tags

For ease of use, we've added tags to all the blogs. At the bottom of each blog, both in preview and in full display mode, there will be a list of the tags associated with the entry. By clicking a tag, a preview will be generated of all the blogs containing that tag.

2. Popular Blog Entries

Because the new blog preview shows the most recent blogs, we opted to display the most popular blogs (with new, improved thumbnail previews!) in the sidebar. The blogs that display there are determined by the number of views they receive.

3. New Sidebar Features!

Most notably, there's a new Cheat Sheet available to compliment the launch of Built For Show. There has also been some general tweaking done with the Flickr module, as well as added links to Built For Show and T-Nation

After approximately nine million emails, a few all-nighters, and a heated discussion about whether Maker's Mark is better neat or on the rocks, we proudly present a newer, better Nate Green Experience.

Any questions, concerns, bugs, or naked pictures of hot chicks can be directed to me at [email protected].

    Now this is certainly cool. I like the new features a lot and I just downloaded that Cheat sheet thing. Good stuff.

    Thanks guys.

    Hey Nate,

    I enjoy the site. Just letting you know that from the blog I can't seem to 'get the cheat sheet', and when I sign up on the built for show site the email I get has a 0kb attachment. Not quite sure what's going on there!

    Otherwise everything's great.

    Best,

    Dan

    Hey Dan,

    I'll send you an email with it as an attachment.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Thanks!

    I have a question but, as its completely unrelated to anything substantive, it may annoy you.

    But why let potential annoyance ruin, well, I won't get anything out of it, it's just idle curiosity really.

    On to the question: When one goes to the "Built for Show" website and clicks on "contact info" (as I did recently), one finds a picture of a payphone. An immaculate and virtually glowing payphone. Did somebody soap that puppy down prior to snapping the pic (and, if so, do you think they offer maid services in Toronto)?

    I think Jason soaped it up.

    Either that or snagged it off a stock photo site. :)

    @aamir:

    That payphone was in the SeaTac airport when Nate and I went to Portland a while back. I thought they looked cool (and, yes: eerily clean), so I snapped a couple photos.

    @Nate:

    YOU'RE A STOCK PHOTO!

    Nate,

    I'm diggin' the new layout of the site! I also like the fact that you posted like 3 or 4 times in one week. Hopefully you can keep it up.

    Anyways, just wanted to give my opinion. Can't wait for your book, already got it pre-ordered!
